Fresno State scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, capped by a three-run homer from Tommy Mendonca that put Fresno State ahead 6-5 through three innings.

Fresno state scored its first run in the bottom of the third, when Nick Montgomery threw a wild pitch with the bases loaded. Still, Fresno State trailed 5-1.

Then with the bases loaded, Steve Susdorf delivered on a 3-1 count, with a two-run single that cut Georgia’s lead to 5-3.

Georgia RH Steve Dodson (5-4, 4.09 ERA) replaced Montgomery with one out and runners on second and third.

Alan Ahmady pops out then Tommy Mendonca hit a three-run homer on the first pitch to put Fresno State ahead 6-5.

Here's the problem, though.... Fresno State still has to play defense and trot out pitchers who just might be running on fumes.
