Bad to the bone or Bone just bad?

Fresno State starting pitcher Sean Bonesteele gave up a double to the first batter he faced in Georgia's Ryan Peisel.

But he got the next two batters out but he kept a pitch up against Rich Poythress and surrendered a run as Georgia took a 1-0 lead.

Bonesteele last started May 6 when Fresno State lost 2-1 at Long Beach State.

But it wasn't a "true start" for Bonesteele, since he pitched just two innings, and gave up a run somehow without allowing a hit or a walk. He struck out one.

What the h*ll is Bryant-Jon Anteola doin' tearin' into one of our own, castin' doubt, and questionin' Bones prior start without actually bein' there to know what even happened in that game at Long Beach?

In game 1 of the CWS, that 'double' should have been a single 'cause Susdorf was lazy on collectin' the ball and throwin' it into the cutoff. The Georgia hitter saw an opportunity and took it. Hold that guy to a single and no run scores ... and then Bryant-Jon would be singin' Bones' praises for allowin' no runs in three innings and retirin' the side in the 2nd & 3rd. Instead he's makin' fun of him. Bones' job was to get Georgia to hit into our defense with flyballs and groundouts. And that's exactly what he did. Bates didn't pull him 'cause he was in trouble, he pulled him to save his arm in case he was needed to relieve in games 2 & 3.

And on the Long Beach start. A) Batesole planned that as a platoon night with a set number of innings per pitcher. B) Bones pitched a stellar two innings with no walks and no hits. The one run that scored on him was due to two errors. 1st on bunt coverage that allowed a runner on. 2nd when the runner stole 2nd, was easily gunned down by Grubb, and Muno forgot to cover the bag allowin' the ball to sail into center field. The runner took 3rd on the error and scored on a sac-fly. Bones did his part but was let down by defense.

How about you don't tear into a guy without knowledge just so you can make up a funny headline with his name.
