I would have to say J.D. Salles of Clovis West is probably the best pitcher in the Valley. 13-0, with a .90 ERA is very impressive. He is a definite candidate for "Player of The Year" for the TRAC
Capri Gonzales, Kerman High has a 23 game hitting streak(might be a Section record-being researched),out of 38 games she has hit safetly 34 games.Capri also leads the team in RBI with 34. Her overall batting average is over .400,and this is her junior year!
my hats off to the mclane highlanders baseball team. especially my old jv coach jim sirmarco. no coach in this valley deserves this title more than coach sirmarco. again congatulations!!!
sincerely todd hill
well demi walker from corcoran she has hit a total of 18 homeruns in two seasons i think thats a record plus she is hitting over 600 for the season and she is only a soph
Allyson Galvan(pitcher) of Fowler went 21-4 with a .488 ERA 186 strikeouts, Allyson also hit .380. Allysons career at Fowler she broke (5) school records for hits, homeruns,RBIs,Strikeouts,ERA. Allyson and Fowler have won 3 section titles with a runner up in her four years as a Redcat. Allyson will attend Odessa College on a full ride scholarship in the fall.
michael york,a junior at chowchilla high school, pitched two no-hitters this year on the way to a valley championship in d-4.
David Rohm is without a doubt the player of the year in the Trac. He was very impressive as a pitcher and his clutch hitting helped the Cougars get to the championchip game. He combines an incredible baseball IQ with athleticism and awesome versatility. Not since Todd Johnson have we seen a more valuable player. Can't miss great ball player at the next level.
Great issue on "Spring All-Stars". But you missed one sport entirely, badminton. There were hundreds of girls competing. There were individual champions and doubles champions crowned, and Clovis West won its 2nd Section championship in a row after and waging an undefeated and untied season.
Why the snubbing of this rising sport and the girls who worked all season long to become the best badminton players they could be?
How is it that the two Clovis West swimming coaches who won Valley Championships in girl's and boy's swimming by more than doubling their nearest competitor's total score did not receive "Coach of the Year" awards?
