LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Jaleesa Ross came within one point of her career high with 23 points, and Tierre Wilson shook off a nasty fall late in the first half to score 15 as the No. 1 seeded Fresno State women's basketball team advanced past No. 9 seed San Jose State 87-76 at the Pan American Center.
Fresno State advances to Friday's Western Athletic Conference semifinals to play No. 5 seed Louisiana Tech at 11 a.m. The Techsters earlier Wednesday defeated No. 4 seed Nevada 82-56.
San Jose State played much better than its 3-28 record, coming withing three points in the second half. Natalie White scored all 21 of her points in the second half.
