Upset Sunday

It seems there is at least one big upset each NFL postseason. This past weekend there were 2 ... Which was the biggest surprise?

Cowboys v Giants....and Romo had to take the brunt of it just like Tommy B did last year for Fresno State.

The difference? Tommy B did not deserve it because he's not making millions :-)

I say by far the Chargers over the Colts. I expected the Giants to beat the Cowboys. The Giants had been in a rhythm and playing better than the Cowboys to finish the season. But for the Chargers to go to the RCA Dome and take out Manning and the Colts, especially when LT and Rivers went down, Gates ailing, that was a huge win. And spares the Patriots from having to once again beat the Colts to reach the Super Bowl, which they will do and win.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with you NKR. Romo and Brandstater are nowhere near comparable. Romo is an awesome talent, plays for a storied franchise, and dates Jessica Simpson. Brandstater is mediocre in a system offense, plays for a mid-major school, and I've never heard of his girlfriend/wife. The only thing they have in common is they play football at the QB position. As far as the upset I'd have to say neither is really an upset. Sure we all think we know who is going to win, but in the playoffs all teams are there because they beat out their competition. It's not like the Dolphins beat the Patriots. When one team completely blows out the other then we can talk about upsets...and the only game that MIGHT qualify as such was the Green Bay/Seattle game. But if I had to choose between the two games...I guess I'd say the Chargers/Colts, considering the injuries to Rivers and Tomlinson.

Apparently, sports fans have different opinions about what an upset is, and that's fine. People are different. Sure, once the playoffs are reached, the teams are very good, deserve to be there and could beat opponents on any given day. But, when a team is the clear underdog, is on the road and beats not only the odds but the favored home team, to me that is an upset. Green Bay beating Seattle, that is what was most likely to happen. Whether the win is by 1 or 20 points, a win is a win. Green Bay was at home, favored to win and did. I'm sure Seattle fans were "upset" but that was not an upset in my view. The Colts were favored by 9 and the Cowboys were favored by 7 1/2, both lost at home. I'd say both were upsets.

i'd go with the colts/chargers game, although by ranking, both were upsets. to me, the colts one is bigger because i really didn't even hear anyone making a case for the chargers to win that game. however, i did hear quite a few experts talking about the giants' chances, and some even picking them outright.

Buchanan vs. Clovis West this possibly could be the game of the year. Well done Bears! Truly awesome and outstanding game from both teams.
