not even going to be close. patriots run away with it. the week 17 game was close for the first half, and the patriots were playing rather uninterested football. in the 3rd quarter, they finally started blitzing and pressuring manning, and he predictably fell apart. what's going to be any different when they break out this scheme in the first quarter?
every week sports analysts try and talk us into believing that this team or that team can beat the patriots. and, it's true that they can be beaten. however, they have proven the analysts wrong each week.
congrats to the giants for making it, but this is the game that the patriots have been shooting for all year. no way they leave any doubt.
Like I said two weeks ago the Gmen would complete the sweep of the big three of Dallas, Green Bay and New England. The have a date with destiny to complete the sweep and end the possibility of New England's Undefeated Season. I'm a believer and can't wait for the Super Bowl. Let's go Big Blue!
Sorry Jason, the Patriots are going to complete the task. They have been focused on a few main goals all season long ... win the division and make the playoffs (check), win the AFC title and get to the Super Bowl (check) and regardless of the opponent and circumstances, win the Super Bowl (next). The Pats are not going to get to the doorstep of the ultimate prize and falter. The real date with destiny is to complete the undefeated season, which they will do.
I too picked the Giants to do well, though I wasn't sure they would beat Green Bay. But they do not have enough to beat the Patriots in the biggest game. The Giants will be tough and competitive, but the Patriots are the better team and will prevail.
Go Pats!!
I'm gonna have to agree with John and Ed, that the Patriots win. I hope it's alot closer than most of us think it's going to be, but odds are New England brings the Giants down to size. Oh, and is it just me or is it ironic that the Giants are playing the role of David? Good luck to both teams and hopefully I haven't fallend asleep by half-time.
I seriously doubt you'll be able to fall asleep in this game "the-sound-dude" because as great as they are, the Patriots always make things interesting. The Pats win close games. Period. In this decade, the Pats have won each of the 3 Super Bowls by 3 points. As a Pats fan, I hope this time it is not close - wow it would be sweet to win and not have all the stress of eeking out a win! Truth is, the Patriots have not blown away a team since about mid season. Still, they have that potential and I would love to see it. My prediction at this point, with 11 days to go, is Patriots 34, Giants 21.
Well- I called it last week and the week before and the week before that. The Gmen had a date with destiny and they overcame insurmountable odds to win the Super Bowl. They avenged 4 of there regular season losses by beating the Bucs (NFC South Champs), Cowboys(NFC East Champs), Packers (NFC North Champs), and finally the almighty Pats (AFC East Champs). Great games, which lead to a great Super Bowl. With a suffocating D and a patient O, the Gmen finally got their due respect.
