What did Bulldogs accomplish at World Vision Classic?

Alex Blair had a good game or two against less competition/talent, but against San Diego State, center Ryan Amoroso had his way Sunday evening at the Save Mart Center. Tim Shelton was quick off the floor, leaping for rebounds. Lorrenzo Wade made big shots whenever the Aztecs needs them. Hector Hernandez had no chance in the post. Neither did Shawn Taylor.

Even with the return of Rekalin Sims on Tuesday, the Bulldogs will enter their second week of the season in the same position they were in late September; no player poised to replace Dominic McGuire.

High on coach Steve Cleveland’s list will be to find that player or players. We saw from Blair, Hernandez, Taylor, Tchana and Ned. Would have liked to see Brandon Webster; he has the most untapped potential on any of the post players.

Bakersfield offers another chance for the Bulldogs to make some mistakes, do some experimenting and still win. Hopefully, if you’re a fan.
