Mahamoud Diakite, a 6 foot, 7 inch power forward at Antelope Valley Community College in Lancaster, has signed a national letter of intent at Wyoming, the home of former Fresno State assistant Heath Schroyer, according to the Associated Press.

"Mahamoud is a great young man, who will fit well into our program both on and off the court," Schroyer said in a statement. "He was an initial academic qualifier out of high school. He has a great upside on the court. Mahamoud will be one of the most athletic players I have ever had the opportunity to coach.

"He can rebound out of his area, and can defend three different positions. He will fill a huge piece of the puzzle in building the program we want here at Wyoming."

Diakite, according to the article, was also recruited by Colorado State, Drake, Fresno State, Pacific and UC-Santa Barbara.

Gary, isn't this the second player (at least) Cleveland has lost to Schroyer? I seem to remember another big signing with Wyo when it looked as if he might come here.
