A 5-yard touchdown run by Ryan Mathews was Fresno State's response to Boise State's quick score and it tied the game at 7-7 with 10:04 left in the first quarter.

Clifton Smith's 36-yard run out of the quarterback position set up the touchdown by Mathews, who is starting in place of an injured Lonyae Miller.

Greetings from Las Vegas. The Bulldogs went off as a 2.5 point underdog at the South Point sports book, much to the chagrine of bettors who wanted more cushion.
The Fresno contingent here probably didn't help the line.
