The Fresno State football team lost to Oregon 52-21 Saturday at Autzen Stadium. The Bulldogs drop to 1-2 and have a bye week next week before hosting Louisiana Tech on Sept. 29.
Some observations:
1. The Bulldogs didn't have enough speed to hang with the Ducks.
2. The Bulldogs didn't execute, suffering through penalties, turnovers, missed blocks and missed tackles.
3. The Bulldogs didn't appear to have a sense of urgency on offense after falling behind.

Let's see, our running backs average 1.7yds/carry and we're down by 4 touchdowns, yet our offensive strategy is to continue to run it up the middle on 1st and 2nd downs. It's gonna be a loooong season.... Oregon's got a great team this year and we've never been creative or innovative on offense in any way but at some point we've gotta realize that what we're doing isn't working....
Sometimes when I watch these games I wonder how come Fresno States offense is so slow to get plays going. I think if they had a faster game plan and plays that were faster they would be great. The offense is to slow, plays take to long to develop. If you watch the ducks offense it is a fast moving offense with quick plays. Our quarterback also is not confident enough to lead the team, maybe next year after this years experience. He also needs to gain more experience running the ball, he is to hesitant and thus loses opportunities to create plays and be a great quarterback, lack of experience I suppose. Oh well this is a young team, they've got talent just not the experience hopefully this year will get them ready for next year. Of 60 players 40 are freshman. For a freshman team not bad I suppose.
Maybe the reason Fresno State looks so slow getting plays going is because they just aren't that fast, especially when compared to a team with superior talent like Oregon.
Fresno got their butts whipped, but they tried. If the defense was as effective as it was the second half the game would of have been closer. But its hard to say the Ducks were awesome, they have such a versatile offense it is hard to defend. Pat Hill needs some new plays, running up the middle all the time is not going to cut it. At least it wasnt 0 to 52.
