Final thoughts

All in all, Fresno State accomplished what it set out to do: win convincingly, keep the offense conservative so as not to give anything away and stay healthy.

The book still is out on quarterback Tom Brandstater, who needs to work on his pocket presence and accuracy. Ryan Mathews impressed as a true freshman running back. Redshirt freshman middle linebacker Ben Jacobs held his own. And Bear Pascoe appears to be the personality of this team.

Now it's on to Texas A&M, a team that will help define who the Bulldogs really are this season.

I have lived in Fresno for the last 12 years. The third time I have listened to the game over KMJ580. Where did you find the announcers and the play by play guy. No score announced after the teams changed position, lots of confusion as to who had the ball and descriptions like "he is over there" Who is he and where is over there? Very poor people on the radio. Very, very poor stuff. They need to be retrained or go to school to learn how to descrip the action they are watching.
