Hey Guys: First of all, sorry about the incorrect spelling of one of the recruit's last names. Reggie's last name is Moore, not Rogers... Discovered mistake early Wednesday morning, around 1:30 a.m. Too late to drive to the office and yell "Stop the Presses!" So much for a good night's sleep after breaking a story. There will be a correction in Thursday's newspaper.
The other Seattle Rainer Beach recruit to verbally commitment to Fresno State men's basketball is Mychal Ladd. Combined, they are one of the top high school backcourts in the state of Washington.
They join Chris Jones of the Bay area's Newark Memorial High to form an already impressive recruiting Class of 2008. Still early in the recruiting season, their commitments demonstrate a stark change in the type of athletes attracted to Fresno State. In the past, coach Steve Cleveland has said he could recruit high schoolers, but they were not of the same talent level of potential junior college transfers.
That has apparently changed.
Ladd is the grandson of former Seattle University standout Gary Ladd.
Next on the Bulldogs' to-do list and with apologies to the recruiting trio -- the most important catch for Fresno State -- is securing a solid post player. More on that later this week...

Is Cleve going to sign a big man? Is that even a priority right now? Will he go the JC route or High School route?
Signing a post player is the top priority at Fresno State, although that doesn't make it any easier. Guards, the little guys, are as the phrase goes, a dime a dozen. A big man? Everybody wants one of those but there aren't enough to go around. So that means longer recruiting battles.
