Vick in the 'Dog House'
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has been indicted on federal charges of competitive dogfighting, etc. What is your reaction to this development?
If convicted of all the charges, Vick and three others - Purnell A. Peace, 35, of Virginia Beach; Quanis L. Phillips, 28, of Atlanta; and Tony Taylor, 34, of Hampton - could face up to six years in prison, $350,000 in fines and restitution.

The state needs a verdict to punish, but the League doesn't. They can act based on the evidence in front of them now and they should. Lifetime ban.
If they wait, hiding behind 'innocent until proven guilty', we will wind up in the same place but the League will be tarnished in the process.
Drop him like a bad habit - send a message to the other criminal thugs in the league who haven't been caught yet. Those criminal thugs who we've made multi millionaires.
You can take the thug out of the ghetto, but not ....

I have mixed emotions about Michael Vick's situation. First of all, give him his day in court. That is the American way. I love animals, so quite naturally, I'm a little upset by this. On the other hand, I see African American young men murder each and everyday and there isn't this type of uproar. I love animals, but if I had to make a stand, I will always take the side of all human beings: black, white, brown, yellow and green. Let's get mad at all types of violence. Humans and Animals.

If Vick committed the crime he should do the time regardless of his fame, fortune, and/or race. As a whole we have all become to leanient on all members of society creating a legal system that stands to always loose in the public eye.
Have we not seen a rise in all areas crime in recent years? Has society all ready forgotten Enron, 911, even Paris Hilton? Do you still wonder why these events happen?
The simple answer is "America has gone soft." Americans need to quit playing the "race" card, "but" the penalty doesn't fit the crime, "illegal" immigrants deserve the rights "Americans" that's right "Americans" fought for, or "it's" just a first offense. I'm sorry but if you are capable of committing a crime you are more than capable of paying the price.
America's softness has enabled those with moral corruptness to take advantage of us. Once we get that swagger back, stop sueing for the wrong reasons, begin parenting our children again and not blamming others for their failures, will we regain the strength we had before this past decade!
If Vick"y" did the crime he should pay the price.

Will someone please explain to me how hunting license are given to thousands of hunters that kill animals yearly and mount them on the wall, but to fight a dog you go to jail. Which animal will be extinct first? How many animals are facing extinction because of hunters. So let me get this straight, if I have a license I can kill animals leagally, but if I fight a dog I go to jail.
Sounds like ANIMAL RACISM. Dye Bambi Dye!

What about underperforming horses and their multimillionaire owners? They send their horses that don't win to the glue factory. Granted, Vick's actions are more sadistic, but I believe the level of outrage and media sensationalism is not proportional to the matter at hand.
