The good news for Fresno State fans is that Nevada point guard Ramon Sessions will not return to college. Last week, he announced his intentions to forgo his senior season with the Wolf Pack for the NBA draft.
The bad news for Fresno State fans ...
... is that Sessions' former teammate, forward Marcelus Kemp -for much of last season, he was the best player in the Western Athletic Conference -- will return after flirting with the NBA.
Also, Utah State guard Jaycee Carroll decided to return.
Losing Kemp and Carroll could have damaged both teams' ability to challenge for the WAC title. The Bulldogs will face that challenge with the combined losses of Quinton Hosley (graduation) and Dominic McGuire, who opted to leave after his junior season.
Last season, Kemp averaged 18.5 points. Sessions averaged 12.3 points and 4.7 assists. Carroll led the WAC in scoring (21.3 points).
