Power hitter Beau Mills, who led Lewis-Clark State College to the NAIA championship, was taken by the Cleveland Indians with the 13th overall pick in Major League Baseball's amateur draft on Thursday.

Mills, a third baseman, is a graduate of Golden West High and played at Fresno State in 2006.

Pre-daft mockups had Mills going anywhere from 10th to the Giants to 27th to the Detroit Tigers.

Mills told The Bee on Wednesday that he had talked to all 30 major-league teams, but had no idea where he would go in the draft.
