Remember those ads that told every kid in America that milk "does a body good"?
(Who was the model in the ad by the way?)
Well, Bulldogs strength and conditioning coach Andy Bennett said Friday that was true ... and that the Bulldogs have benefitted greatly from it.
He said the Bulldogs had a deal with local milk producers/companies to provide the team with milk. He mentioned chocolate and strawberry milk ... my personal favorite would have to be chocolate.
Bennett said milk helps speed the body's recovery time.
"I think it made a difference in how the guys were able to come back day in and day out and move some weight in here," Bennett said.
If you're interested in nutrition and exercise here's some free tips from Bennett, who further broke down the relationship between milk and the body:
"People don't realize when you're training you're breaking down muscle tissue. You gain your strength in your rest and recovery. That's why it's important that 30 minutes post workout, you get the recovery drink in them of a protein and simple sugar. What strawberry and chocoalte milk do, the lowfats, they provide the proper ratio of carbohydrates to protein to speed up recovery."
Florida has Gatorade.
Fresno has valley-made milk from Producers Dairy and California Dairies Inc.
Not as catchy.

What exactly are you implying? Any college/university would bend over backwards to have such support! You really have a lot of nerve to put down a supporter, regardless of the reason for their support. "Milk does a body good." Maybe you should consider drinking more of it to help your mind . . . .
Relax.
Sometimes things need to be taken for what they are. Assumptions about implied meanings aren't needed.
