Fresno State softball sweeps Louisiana Tech

Fresno State beat Louisiana Tech 4-0 and 8-0 Saturday at Bulldog Diamond to complete a three-game sweep.
But just as the Bulldogs were taking the field for the second game, Hawaii finished its own sweep of Utah State to lock up the Western Athletic Conference regular-season title for the second time in five years.
The Rainbow Wahine finished WAC 16-2, while Fresno State is 12-3 with a three-game set left against San Jose State this week at Bulldog Diamond.
Fresno State (39-16) outscored Louisiana Tech 21-1, as pitchers Robin Mackin and Merryann Barr combined for 16 consecutive scoreless innings to end the series.
Barr (10-7) pitched a two-hitter and drove in three runs in Saturday's second game. She went 5 for 7 with five RBIs in the series.
Mackin (29-9) threw a seven-hitter with seven strikeouts in the first game. She also hit a two-run double in a three-run sixth.
Senior catcher Nichole Willis hit a two-run homer in the second game. It was her seventh and the only homer by either team in the series.
