Is Fresno State (6-0) better than we think?
Or is Oregon State (4-3) overrated as an opponent?
The Bulldogs demolished Montana State 80-41 Wednesday night at the Save Mart Center. Oregon State hosted Montana State on Sunday at Gill Coliseum, and won 72-63. The Beavers led by 16 in the second half, then watched Montana State trim the lead to five with less than 2½ minutes remaining.
Numbers can tell you anything you want them to, but in this case, are they trying to tell us something?
HOME SWEET HOME: Saturday's game at Oregon State will be the Beavers' first of nine consecutive home games. They won't leave home in December.
BACK ON THE TEAM: Oregon State forward Sasa Cuic has been reinstated to the basketball team. He missed games against Northern Colorado and Montana State. Cuic, a junior, is averaging 10.6 points and 2.6 rebounds.

I think it's probably a little bit of both. We all know that certain conferences are overrated. We see that all the time in football. The same is for basketball, although maybe not quite as much. The other thought that comes to mind is perhaps Fresno State actually did something right by hiring Cleveland over Wahlberg. I know many fans wanted Wahlberg (including me) but maybe Cleveland was simply the better choice. I hope they continue to play well. The basketball season hasn't looked this promising since guys like dominic young, rafer alston, courtney alexander, kendric brooks, etc. Even when Lopes was coach and the dogs were 1st (WAC) for an extended period of time there was no hope of a post-season. Maybe, I'll go to a couple of games this year. Good luck 'dogs!
