Your Central Section football champions and why:
Division I: Clovis West -- Can run it with Jelmini but, at the end of the day, defense will rule.
Division II: West of Bakersfield -- Have section's most dominant player in QB/RB Ryan Mathews.
Division III: Golden Valley of Bakersfield -- Garces can't hang with Bulldogs' offense.
Division IV: Shafter -- Got nipped by Taft in Round 1; will reverse in Round 2, in playoffs.
Division V: Bakersfield Christian -- Superior schedule than Liberty-MR will make difference in end.

A team isn't one person...or two or three. It takes more heart and determention as a whole, than having a few stand out stars. I see clovis having 2-3 stand out stars, I see CW having 2 stand out stars, buchanan...well?
However, I see clovis east and madera with stand out TEAMS. And without a team you're whole program falls apart.
Take out those stand out stars and see the rest of the team sink. You have to work as a team. That is why I see the C.E. & Mad-town hunger, love, & respect for the game, & teammates will take them further. You Can walk away from a season with a great record & feel as if you never were apart of a TEAM or an o.k. record or even a section title with teammates for life because You PLAYED AS A TEAM.
I see TEAM in Clovis East and Madera. The coaches for both staffs seem to respect the game and realize there is more to life than winning. As a coach it is also helping boys turn into men. Men that will take their lessons that were taught on and off the field and apply it to the rest of their lifes. Not just the glory days. A season last a season...creating TEAM work ethics last forever.
