Swearengin "loves Fresno State" on Boren/McEwen podcast
Fresno mayoral candidate Ashley Swearengin tells us on the Boren/McEwen political podcast that opponent Henry T. Perea's research team can stop looking for connections between her and Fresno State. She says, "But I will let you in on a dirty little secret, and that is I really love Fresno State."

Swearengin's Fresno State comment was in response to a question posed by Bill on where her loyalities would lie when a conflict came up between Fresno State and the city. Swearengin, who works at Fresno State, said that as mayor, her first obligation would be to the residents of the city.

Based on conflict of interest rule/law, how would a major disqualify him/herself? Where would be the checks and balances? Saying that the primary loyalties would have to be with the city, is that enforceable in a court of law? Fresno State, forever being at odds with the City of Fresno (taxpayer) would make an employee of Fresno State a rather precarious choice for major...I would think! We are talking about mega-bucks off and on. Hoping for answers that will hold water.

Would it not be lovely if Ms. Swearengin was as high on that part of Fresno she and others have ignored for so very long. Wonder how many folks in that part of Fresno MOI calls home will have the ability to attend Fresno State.
Lovely of the dear lady to profess such love for Fresno State, and not have the same level of regard for portions of the City she knows little about and seems to ignore in her quest to become mayor. Can she really call herself "mayor of all", when she will not venture into waters lacking in votes.
Rebublican MOI may well be, but do not see Ms. Swearengin as a proper role model of the party MOI belongs to.
