Maria Shriver's a rock star -- sold out in three hours

Well, like I said, Maria Shriver's women's conference in Long Beach is a really popular event. I just got an e-mail saying that the tickets to the main event sold out within three hours. That's a 14,000-seat arena. Geez.

Tickets for the Night at the Village shopping event the day before the main conference will be available as well as tickets to the Minerva awards featuring Bonnie Raitt, so it's still possible to get that close to the conference.

UPDATE: I got an e-mail today from the publicity team handling Maria Shriver's women's conference. If you didn't get a ticket for the whole show in time, they say The Women’s Conference can be experienced free-of-charge through a live webcast of the main stage sessions throughout the day and video on-demand highlights at www.californiawomen.org .

“It is a historic occasion for us to have gone from selling out in three days last year, a record then, to only three hours yesterday, and I am thrilled by the support and enthusiasm from such an incredible and diverse community of women,” said Shriver. “However, we want to make sure that as many women as possible can participate in the conference and therefore take great pride in offering the Night at The Village event, as well as a separately-ticketed afternoon session showcasing the Minerva Awards presentation.”
