Just like New Orleans

From the Sacramento Bee today:

"President Bush took a helicopter tour of charred forests above Shasta Lake on Thursday and vowed to do the 'best … we possibly can' in directing federal assistance to help California respond to devastating wildfires."

Uh-oh.

The "best we possibly can"? Is that a FEMA joke?

Comments

"...heck of a job, Arnie."

Is there no faith anymore?

MOI believes that help is on the way, and the government will do what it can to provide services to folks in need. Refuse to buy into every comment the President of the United States is a joke.

The President of the United Sates being a joke?

Who is laughing?

Rob I do not blame even the hardend skeptics of the Bush Administration just look at his track record.

Unfortunatly the list of failure is long as well as blaming others for his failure.

Sad thing is many politicos buy into his failed policies, and politics of blame the others.

When enough time has been allowed to pass, history will look at the Bush Administration and come to a different opinion.

Call MOI naive, but MOI believes the right man was in place when the horrid events of 9/11 happened. MOI also believes that history will show that the war was the right thing to do.

That is my personal belief, just as the belief that LBJ was a better domestic president than JFK.

Mind, MOI is going to pack his bags and leave America forever in a few shot years, based on the belief that old folks are treated badly here and want to be in UK where MOI will still be appreciated in his decreptitude.

MOI...leaving in a few short years sounds like a hollow promise.Leave now and get a head start on the rest of your life. All the others...you couldn't handle a broken coffee maker and a flat tire in the same day while President Bush has been dealing with intense issues non stop almost from day one and who knows what awaits us/him in the near future. You sound like the spoiled brats that you are.

I wonder, does the originator of the blog have
to read all the comments
that are posted?

Rob, you keep refering to MOI, but where is this guy?...can't he speak for himself? are you his care-giver or what?

You all should be grateful that we have not had another terrorist attack on U.S. soil since 911--seven years. And thanks goes to the Bush Administration for this security, which is a tremendous accomplishment.

I second the notion that President Bush has been handed a heavy load, and history will reflect that he has handled it well.

All you Bush haters--the only reason you are buying into B.O. is that you are driven by hatred for President Bush. You've all bought into the liberal, biased, Bush-hating mainstream media, who will never get over loosing Florida in 2000.

To vote for B.O., you must first suspend reason, experience, and patriotism.

Yeah, thanks to the Bush administration. Of course, the one they did let happen was a doozy.

And nobody "handed him" the Iraq war. He wanted it, and did everything he needed to do to make sure he got it.

Mike D.
The truth hurts, doesn't it.

Mike D. has suspended all reason, experience, and patriotism.

Redpeach, the truth doesn't hurt me. Does the truth about Bush's desire for war hurt you? And what's up with all these continuous personal attacks? You can't disagree with anyone civilly?

Mike D
Have you stopped to think of all your personal attacks on President Bush?

Your accusations of Bush are unwarranted, and unfair. You accuse him of being a monster, like he started this fight, and I find that offensive. He is a Christian man, which does not mean he is perfect, but is doing his best to deal with the biggest threat of our lifetime--Islamic radical facist bent on destroying America. Attacks by Islamic extremism have increased steadily since the 1970's, culminating on 911--the worst attack on American soil in history.

People who diss their own country for combatting terrorism, are giving these terrorists encouragement. They believe they can concur the most powerful country on earth because they smell weakness in the Western World. Self-loathing Americans are what they smell.

President Bush is a big boy. He doesn't need your defense (or even know you exist, for that matter). And please don't tell me you seriously believe that the war in Iraq has anything whatsoever to do with 9/11.

Mike D.

So, if someone is a big boy, personal attacks are fair games? Is that what you are suggesting? Using your logic, then you are also fair game, or are you not a big boy yet?

And then you sling another unjustified stab at the President. You presume to know more than you possibly could, and again paint the President with your big monster brush. He has shown us throughout his reign as President, he cares deeply about America.

There are few people who do not yet realize that Al Queda is in Iraq, and are responsible for spilling the blood of many of our courageous soldiers. Capturing, or killing many Al Queda operatives in Iraq has been instrumental in fighting the War on Terror(ist). That is the war President Bush, which he has spoke about many times, and nearly all of Congress voted for, Republicans and Democrats.

As far as WMD's, the UN thought Sadam had them. Otherwise, why were they inspecting Iraq looking for that very thing, which, in the hands of this madman, represents a world threat.

President Bush was relying on the same intelligence as the UN, Great Britain, Isreal, and others, all who thought the same thing...Sadam had WMD's. Why else would he halt the inspections? He didn't want to get caught red-handed is the obvious answer. And because of the hold-up in the UN before we went to war, Sadam had many months to transfer them to a nearby ally-nation, such as Syria. Besides, they recently announced they found Yellow Cake in Iraq, which is a mandatory ingrediant to make A-Bombs.

Get over us going to War in Iraq. We did, we are there, we need to finish the job, and pray for the best possible outcome--that Democracy takes hold, and liberty will be experienced by all Iraqi's.

When someone is president of the United States, criticism of how one conducts that office is fair game, and always has been.

Sure, al Qaeda is in Iraq NOW, thanks to the power vacuum we created when we toppled Saddam without a plan in place to maintain order in the aftermath. But Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. That is well-established.

But keep on believing what you have to believe.

Peaches, I hope you weren't injured too badly in that tumble off the turnip-truck. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Funny how to a liberal, an issue is singular, until it is politically expediant for it to become complex.

You must be a military expert to proclaim to know so much about war strategy. But if you were an expert, you would know that with war comes chaos. Everything cannot be fit into a convenient plan. Just like a sports contest, you have a strategy, but must be willing to adjust your play as the game dictates. And mistakes are a given, just the same, you do not quit the game, but keep striving for victory.

I really dispise how you run down our military and the good intentions of our country at every step. Compared to the resolve of the vast majority of Americans during WWII, it is truly shamefull.

And by the way, the success of the Iraq surge has brought enough order to the region for political factions to begin making progress (reported on ABC, NBC, CBS, etc), and safe enough to allow BO, and his campaign staff (ABC, NBC, and CBS) to visit there just a few days ago.

He Swift- the only wagon I fell off of (thankfully) is the bandwagon of liberal lies you are still riding on. It is truly liberating to shed the self-loathing, narrow-minded liberal mindset, and become a better informed, proud and patriotic American.

Is your response addressed to anyone in particular, or is it just a canned response to "liberals" who criticize Bush's Iraq policies? I don't see anyone here claiming to be expert in war strategy. The fact that we weren't prepared for the aftermath in Iraq is pretty self-evident. Or do you think chaos, looting and extreme levels of violence were the intended result?

There were plenty of bona fide military experts who said we needed far more troops in Iraq to keep order in the aftermath of the military victory. They were shunted aside in favor of those who followed the strategy preferred by the neo-cons, most of whom had never served. The current "success of the Iraq surge" is about 5 years overdue.

Mike Dunne
Why don't you enlist in the service. It sounds like you all the answers when it comes to war strategy. We need more good men to protect our country.

...only 6 people in the world, excluding Saudi Arabia and the Bin Laden clan, who still love Bush, and we get 2 of them on our blog...what'r the odds?

You don't need "all the answers in war strategy" to see that the Bush administration (not the troops on the ground) screwed up big time. Do you need to be an expert in football strategy to note that the ball carrier has fumbled, or that the quarterback was sacked?

Swift

Make that three.

Meanwhile President Bush is sitting in the Oval Office alone, by himself (with no one else present not even under the table) thinking how can I make Mike and Swift love me? When he comes to the conclusion other normal Americans do, he just begins to laugh out loud.
