We welcome a recent crackdown on a notorious Fresno street gang in our editorial today. But these actions, while they relieve some of the pain and fear that gangs inflict on neighborhoods and communities, are not enough by themselves to eradicate the problem.
In fact, we will never entirely eradicate the problem of gangs, but we can do more to reduce their impact. Better schools, better job opportunities, better parenting, better relations between police and neighborhood residents -- all these things will do more in the long run to limit the damage inflicted by gangs than high-profile sweeps and mass arrests, however grateful we are for those short-term victories.
They have to show these gangs that their behavior will not be tolerated here. All of the communities in and around Fresno have denied that there is a gang problem which on;ly allowed them to take over and recruit now its our turn to take back our communities.
May law enforcement lead the way....to the return of the rule of law. America is a nation of laws, and from its inception, our founding fathers extracted these laws from the eternal truths of the Christain Holy Bible.
The answer to all our problems is Christ Jesus. If every Californian would turn their hearts towards Christ, our state would be transformed. A revival would return our society to a God-fearing community focused on what each of us could give, rather than what each of us can get.
This would be a truly miraculous thing.
i think the gags in fresno are a good thing.....heres the truth, if it wasnt for the bulldog street gang protecting fresnos hispaniCs youth there would be other more organized gangs such as 13 and 14ers trying to recruit in fresno county ....then things would get really messed up....so i say go dogs....and to all the ignorant people waKE UP AND SMELL THE CHANATE ....THE CURRENT GANGSTERS ARE ON THE FRONTLINE FOR A REASON...AND THATS FOR LOVE AND PROTECTION OF OUR YOUTH
