Barack and Britney, sittin' in a tree...

John McCain's campaign has launched a new ad attacking Barack Obama -- by linking the Democratic candidate to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. It's a hoot.

It's also risky for McCain. Pointing out the unprecedented buzz about Obama as a way of bringing him down is a tactic that could backfire. McCain seems to be betting that people will vote for the staid status quo out of fear of the unknown. It might work, but it could also drive people to Obama in a time when the vast majority of Americans are unhappy with the status quo.

Mr McCain,

Are you sure you want to be taking campaign advice from redpeach?

It sure seems early in the campaign for McCain to look so desperate. If, by some miracle, McCain gets elected, this nation is going to wake up with the greatest case of "buyer's remorse" in memory.

Mike(D) you are so blinded by your socialist tendicies and leftist brainwashing that you can't even reason. What do you call all the bilge coming from the left. Acts of confidence. The American people are the ones who should feel desperate. This is an election about "Change".Because of their ridiculous positionson Global warming,immigration,etc... No matter which of these two is elected... all we will be left with is "Change"(in our pockets).

"Barack and Britney, sittin' in a tree"

I don't get the polemics of it, if there is one. I know that Britney Spears and Paris Hilton are two young, good looking female entertainers; but way out my sphere of interest and activity.

But I understand shoes. I read that Senator Mc Cain was seen wearing $520.00 designer shoes. Apparently Mr. Mc Cain does not only have a great appetite for power, but he is also a very vain old man. Can we afford him in the White House? The Iraq war is expensive enough.

If Mc Cain wants to spend his money on nice shoes thats his choice. If Obama is elected I feel that alot of our money will go to foreign lands. I ask who is playing the race card. Obama is saying he is black when he is only half black so who is playing what here to get votes. Change can't happen for either of them without a working Congress as they have no power without them.

Jackie,

When I read your post about Obama saying he's black, presumably to get votes, I immediately thought of Abraham Lincoln's quip. When someone accused him of being two-faced, he responded with, "If I had two faces, would I be wearing this one?"

I think the same applies to Obama's half white, half black heritage. I honestly don't think black is an advantage in running for the job of President of the United States, so I'm going to respectively disagree.

good one, scotty

Brian, I hope you didn't dislocate your knee from jerking it like that.
