Denham managing to survive recall by 78% margin

The recall effort against Republican state Senator Jeff Denham is apparently dying the death it deserved. Voters in Denham’s 12th District -- which reaches into Madera County -- were rejecting the recall attempt by a landslide margin of 78%, with 31% of the precincts reporting.

State Senate President Pro Tem Don Perata started the recall to punish Denham for not voting for last year's budget. Perata later dropped the effort officially, and now voters are putting the final stake through its heart.
