Latest Boren-McEwen podcast: Do Democrats vote or do they just like to register?

You can listen to the latest political podcast from Boren and McEwen by clicking here. We take on Democrats who register to vote, but never seem to get around to going to the polls on election day. This is stuff that no one else will tell you.

We also offer our opinions of last week's Fresno State student fee vote, and whether it's a good idea for President John Welty to impose the fee over the objections of students.

In the final segment of this week's podcast, we announce our political winners and losers of the week. You might be suprised at our choices for this week.

This is the only place you can get political commentary from two of the Valley's most veteran journalists. Listen here for commentary that your friends will be talking about next week. You'll be saying, "I already know that. I listen to the Boren-McEwen podcast as soon as it's posted."

my God, dont you guys ever sleep? That you run a fine newspaper and find time to stay relevant to a changing demographic is remarkable,...I'm still a hard-copy guy, but I understand you're trying to save an industry...re; "registered vs. actual voters",the sleeping giant might be that consistant 50% that never shows up to vote,...If Welty is the CEO, and is in charge of the university's portfolio, do the students,in any way, have the status of "shareholders"? is this a kind of token vote?...and why does that feel so familiar?...ahem, anyway, good job on the pod., fellas.

Swifty..."relevant to a changing demographic" sounds good but just what does that mean? More jibberish. These folks carry the water for the McClatchey's otherwise they wouldn't be there. They tout their years of service with the company which shows me if your a McClatchey butt boy they keep you around and you move up into the ranks to further their agenda. There is very little balance and it's hard to believe they do not spend a lot of time searching for the spin they want and then printing it.Why do I read it? That gets harder to answer since I took a week off from it.There is just nothing there that is worth the time.Same old same old.I plan to let my subscription expire and am currently reading more books and magazines in the morning. The Bee gets a 5 minute look because that's all its worth. FYI-The Modesto Bee is laying off quite a few employees...no mention of that in the local paper. Why?If the Bee and its podcast, blogs or whatever new gimic they come up with are relevant in your life it's time for self analysis.

...their effort is nothing less than the "hero's journey", Brian, the very industry that made the first revolution possible, has to survive, for us to survive. For me, the Bee seems like it is overly carefull to be balanced, or dont you read; Cal Thomas, Vic Hansen, Geo. Will, Maria Salinas, Ruben V. Kat.Parker,et al, in fact, every day in the Bee, one can can find right-wing-nut-job voices.... ...b.t.w. the Mcclatchys are not on the editorial board...

Why are we reading into this so much.

It is what it is, merely another form of communication.

Now don't ask me what the definition of "is"- is, I will leave that to our former President.
