Good idea for sale

I was sad to read about One by One Leadership's plans to sell the historic homes it had planned to restore as offices for nonprofits. Read the story by clicking here.

That was a great idea, one I had seen beautifully accomplished in downtown Denver. There is an entire street of 13 historic Victorian cottages that have been restored and transformed into offices. It's called the Ninth Street Historic District, and it's so interesting that it is included on most city tours.

It's understandable that One by One felt it was in over its head on this project and, of course, development is not its mission. But perhaps there is someone else out their with vision and development skills who could make this happen.

There are many developers that could do this project but they won't because they wouldn't make enough money and they are slready building all over and leaving new home graveyards all over town. We have a couple in Sanger ans it is so sad. Less is more and if they just drop some of their profit they could sell the existing homes. I don't think permits should be issued until each developement is sold out. It would be sad to see the historic homes not get restored. Maybe they could make it a project for the young people that are working towards their contractors licenses and Clovis has the vocational course where the students build a home.
