Here is where the superdelegates are going in California

The Sacramento Bee has tallied up the status of California's 66 Democratic superdelegates. Click here to see which superdelegates Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama have claimed so far in the Golden State.

The superdelegates are important because they can vote anyway they want at the Democratic National Convention, which will be held in Denver in August. Some have committed early, while others have yet to announce a preference. There are 795 superdelegates overall, and they will be crucial if there is a close convention vote for the Democratic nomination.

So far, Clinton has 26 superdelegates to 11 for Obama.

In the San Joaquin Valley, Rep. Jim Costa, D-Fresno, is uncommitted, and Rep. Dennis Cardoza, D-Merced, is in the Clinton column.

Costa knows how to work the system to his political benefit. He is sure to be wined and dined by Clinton and Obama forces in an attempt to push him out of his undecided state. Who knows what they will offer him for his support at the convention. Hold out for secretary of agriculture, congressman.

The only local name I recognized on that list was Jim Costa. How can it be that the 5th largest city in the state only gets one of California's 66 superdelegates?

Incidentally, I had to register to view the site. It's free, though, and looks like an interesting website.

Sounds like the 2 Democrats are attempting to buy a nomination. The two nominees have spent close to $1 million on super delegates.Disgusting!and Costa pimping himself.Double disgusting!

He has probably made his decision and is just no so fast bto announce it leaving him open to change his mind without the wrath of everybody saying but you said. I don't see this as pimping just cautious and aren't all politicians waiting to get something for nothing.

Amateurs all of you. What Costa really wants, a list if you will, are items Obama or Hillary must come up with. Here are but a few of what the pundits are finding out: From Obama, an Oprah Fundraiser in Santa Barbara, a skybox outing at Wrigley Field, and federal funding of a bullet train from Fresno to Chicago. From Hillary, free saxaphone lessons from Bill, an hour of free shopping at Wal-Mart, and a date to the Oscars with Chelsea.......ag secretary......dream on.
