Governor meeting with Bee's editorial board later today
Be sure to check back on our blog later this afternoon to see what he talked with us about. The main topic will be his proposal for the state budget, but I'm sure other topics will come up.

Maybe you can ask him why, less than halfway through his first full term, the state is back to where it was under Gray Davis. Maybe even worse (I don't remember any state parks being closed when Davis was Governor).
Maybe you can also ask if keeping his pledge to not raise taxes is worth all the suffering his budget will cause. Is he prepared for the backlash that is sure to come if school districts start sending out layoff notices, when people find their local state parks shut, when low-income people can't get medical or dental care, and when prison guards get laid off?
Not planning ahead for this fiscal crisis was irresponsible. Trying to fix it with spending cuts only is insanity.
