Tonight's Bush's last State of the Union

Early reports out of Washington say President Bush's State of the Union speech tonight, the last he will deliver during this eight years in office, will focus on the struggling economy and the need for Congress to pass a $150 billion economic stimulus plan.

Do you expect any surprises in tonight's speech?

Sadly I don't usually watch these and most likely wont tonight either because it is a bunch of hot air.

I don't expect any surprises. He's just counting the days now until he leaves office. What would be nice (though it will never happen) would be for him to apologize for the mess he's leaving for his successor.

...it was good to see all the partisan bickering put aside, and all the democrats giving endless standing ovations for a job well done. (no sign of dissent, whatsoever, even Obama pressed in for the glad handshake) This will surely give Bush a place of honor in the history books...and after 7 years, I finally got it,...it's spelled, 'newckalure'.

How do you know it is a lot of hot air if you don't watch? That makes no sense like most of your jibberish.Mike D-maybe someone should apologize for getting a blow job in the oval office.George W. Bush has nothing to apologize for,he has not brought shame to the office of the president.Swifty is right. It was mildly encouraging to see a little support from the socialists a.k.a. Democrats.

Brian's comment is typical of the sexually repressed republican. They see sex as an evil sin but not the death and destruction of an unjust war. They just substitute sex for violence.

Bush spoke, Democrats automatically rejected whatever he said - so what else is new?

Yes I did see the State of the union and I think that Bush is and has done a good job with what he has had to work with in a bunch of childish democrats that go against anything he says or wants to do. Until the parties start working together this country will not get any better. The republicans are just as quilty of the childish behavior. For the record Brian most of what you say is jibberish. Not everyone agrees with you either that is the freedom of speech we all have.

"Bush spoke, Democrats automatically rejected whatever he said - so what else is new?"

It's when the Democrats didn't automatically reject what Bush said that got us into trouble (e.g. Iraq).

I wouldnt give two hoots if the White House turned into a brothel.

We need our troops home alive and unhurt as soon as possible.

A well known and respected judge in these parts gave me a piece of wisdom I have found most valuable. He said "If you don't know then you don't know". I don't know the facts(history will)and neither do any of you-just what we happen to read or hear. The blow job is a fact and we know we were lied to about it.Wayne and Rich have no problem with this behavior so one might assume they too have a proclivity towards this type of deviant behavior.Jackie-good job on both the Free Speech issue and watching the SOTU address.Mike(D)-Free speech and stupid speech fall into the same category so you are covered. T.C.- Dick Cheney looked so comfortable up ther while Nancy Pelosi looked like she had diahrea and didn't know whether to stand up or sit down and that constant blinking is just not normal.I tried blinking as much as she did and it gave me a headache.I didn't see the Lefties behaving as boorishly as they usually do though.I think they highlighted their programs as to when it was good PR to stand and break wind.

Brian,

“If you don’t know then you don’t know.” Wow, how profound. Is this judge’s name Rumsfeld? What were you appearing before a judge for anyway? Never mind.

Fact: We were lied to about the war. Just because you choose to ignore this fact doesn’t make it less true.

Your comments on Pelosi and Cheney are about as senseless as Senator Frist’s video diagnoses of Terri Shiavo.

Also, I assumed you were an adult but with all your talk of “diarrhea” and “breaking wind” I’m starting to wonder. I guess you won’t respond to this until you get out of school.

A soldier without a life, and arm, leg, or half his sanity is a far far more of a devient crime to America i.e. Bush's failed policy in Iraq.

How important to you is the judges quote if you failed to or forgot his name?

I want our men and women home safely as soon as possible but not at the cost of leaving a job unfinished so that we have to go back in a year or two. I think it is a load of crap that we should be there trying to fix the infrastucture. I say they are better off now than before we went in there and they can fight among theirselves and fix their own infrastructure. I was appalled that Bin Ladens son was in the states doing interviews on tv about his father wanting to make peace with America. We should follow him back to his father and get the one that started the whole mess.

It's recess so I only have a little time. All your assumptions are just that. Wayne-You have no facts-You know nothing.Same for myself other than what history(sometimes questionable) has proven.Richey Rich-Would you have been against our involvement in the second World War also. When you see a military person in public do you thank them for their sacrifice and that of their family so you can go about your daily business as you wish.Talk to them about how they feel in regards to their service and sacrifice. It is very humbling and inspiring at the same time.If you want to stand- out on Shaw and protest that's OK too. They're covering your socialist ass there too.

Jackie with all do respect to the differences of our opinions Bush's policies are producing more terrorists faster then we can kill them.

A "job unfinished" is one that should never have started in Iraq.

To the credit of our soldiers less of whom are being killed, I found that they are not going out on missions to no where making themselves targets in a fish bowl. They simple tell the commander in charge they are on a mission when in fact they are in a field somwhere in a defensive mode.

At least our soldiers are more sensible on the ground then we are over here, maybe because it is at the cost of their lives.

Bush made a mess in Iraq through his bungled, and misjudged policies. It does not make sense to keep supporting a failed policy.
