Early voting begins Monday for California's presidential primary election

Fresno County Clerk Victor Salazar, who is also the county's registrar of voters, issued this news release about the Feb 5 primary election:

EARLY VOTING BEGINS ON MONDAY

Voting begins on Monday, January 7, 2008, in the California Presidential Primary Election. Voters wishing to cast their ballot early may come to the Fresno County Elections Office located at 2221 Kern Street in downtown Fresno and vote in this important election. Our office is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Fresno County Elections Office will also offer “Saturday Voting” for the four Saturdays before the election. Voters may visit our office for this purpose from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. beginning on Saturday, January 12, 2008.

Mailing of the “Fresno County Sample Ballot and Voter Guide” and vote-by-mail ballots will begin on Monday. Anyone not registered to vote in this election, may do so by January 22, 2008.
