Yahoo and the other 'moral pygmies'

Various sources are reporting that Yahoo has settled a claim from the families of two Chinese dissidents arrested after Yahoo turned over their e-mail records to the Chinese government. Yahoo got hammered by members of Congress -- Rep. Tom Lantos called Yahoo executives "moral pygmies" for snitching out Wang Xiaoning and Shi Tao. Both men got 10-year prison sentences.

But Yahoo and other communications companies would be off the hook in this country if President Bush has his way. Bush has vowed to veto any version of the FISA Amendment Act that doesn't include retroactive immunity for American companies that aided the government's efforts to spy on American citizens beginning in 2001.

The Senate Judiciary Committee appears ready to pass a bill that includes immunity, thanks to support from Sen. Dianne Feinstein. So who are the moral pygmies again?
