Police chief's blog postponed a week

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer must be in Sacramento Tuesday to meet with Gov. Schwarzenegger, so we're pushing back the blogging session with him to Tuesday, April 3. It will run from 1-2 p.m.

You can still send questions to the chief in advance. Email them to opiniontips@fresnobee.com.

Why does the Fresno Police Department pay a PIO when it's obvious you (Chief Dyer) prefer to be in front of the camera yourself? Are you planning on running for an elected position in the near future so you find it important to be recognized?

Obviously postponed for yet another photo-op for our Police Chief. Does anyone like him as much as Jerry Dyer likes himself? Is he running for an elected position so he feels the need to have his face on TV & newsprint at every opportunity? Just what does the Fresno PD PIO do anyway? Why does the city pay Jeff Cardinale since Dyer chooses to make most of the department public announcements?

Jerry:
Just wanted to let you what a fine job that you are doing as Police Chief.
Keep up the good work! On a
lighter note, how are your
mother, dad, and sister? We
are still living in Fowler.

God Bless you and your family in everything that you do.
GO PACK 390!
