Artisan Web site debuts in Fresno
Madeitmyself.com is up and running.
The site is run by Ray Victors and Trevor Dudeck, who are from Fresno. It's a Web site that artisans can use to sell individual works. They can set it up either as a set price or negotiated price.
It could be compared a bit to an eBay for artists. Victors says the site has more than 1,000 users since it started in June. "We'd like the community to go in and shop," he says.
Products range from "jewelry to blankets, clothing, facial products, you name it. People put their talents to work. Some create paper products, even food items," he says.
Every product that goes through is screened to make sure it is handmade, Victors says. "That's the No. 1 criteria." He calls it a super-cyber megamall for the works of the artisan.
