GMAC Financial Services announced plans to close all 200 mortgage retail offices, effective the end of September.

Nine jobs will be lost in Fresno.

That number isn't high, but can be added to the fallout from the worst real estate downturn in decades. So many mortgage, title and real estate-related companies have shrunk or gone out of business in this region that the amount of office space for sublease quadrupled.
