Dropping gas prices and temperatures
First, the temperature never climbed above 90 Monday and today I read this story about all the reasons the price of crude oil -- and hence gasoline -- should be dropping.
All this and a three-day weekend? Doesn't get much better.
Looks like oil traders breathed a sigh of relief that Hurricane Gustav didn't do much damage to offshore platforms. Demand from China and India that once drove up prices is easing and the dollar also is doing better.
That led to a happy stock market and falling gold and copper prices too.
Of course, with any gas-prices-are-dropping story, there's a caveat: OPEC could cut production and there's a "conga line" of more storms on the way.
But until that happens, I'm going to enjoy my $3.999 gas -- the average price in Fresno today -- and hope it drops further.
