The New York Times tells us that Microsoft has cut its prices on its Xbox 360, down to $199 from $279. It's now cheaper than the $249 Nintendo Wii.

I still have played neither, but my fiance and I put a Wii on our bridal registry at Target. Think anyone will buy it for us?

More importantly, will the price cut set up a battle between Xbox and Wii? I'm not sure, but for a very geek-language laden conversation on the two, head here.
