arrowKudos to Kings River students

Five students from Kings River School in Kingsburg recently won top honors at the state History Day competition. They now head to the national competition in June. This year's theme: “Conflict and Compromise in History.”

Crystal Pacheco, Amanda Smith and Kimberly Saesee won the junior group performance category for their project, "A Chain That Cannot Be Broken: The Ultimate Compromise of Anne Frank and her step-sister, Eva Geringer-Schloss."

Amanda Jost and Holly Wilson took top honors in the junior group exhibit category for "Exposing Manzanar Inside and Out: Ansel Adams and Toyo Miyatake."

The weeklong national competition begins June 15. The event will be held at the University of Maryland.
