Fresno, a cheap place to vacation
The average cost of two adults traveling together is $244 a day for lodging and meals, AAA announced today.
The announcement includes a list of some of the most and least expensive cities for travel. And guess who is toward the bottom? Yep, Fresno, at an average of $207 a day, slightly above Oklahoma City at $194 and Albuquerque, N.M., at $179.
Of course, the really fun places cost more: Honolulu at $673, New York City at $606 and Las Vegas at $358.
AAA says you can figure out how much it will cost to drive to those places -- except Honolulu, of course -- by using its fuel cost calculator. And in case you are planning a Fresno vacation (or have friends or family coming) this Web site gives you the city’s top-rated hotels and things to do.

Comments:
Maybe once the air is cleaned up it would be worth a visit. Not much to do in Fresno but there ARE a lot of nice people there. I left 6 months ago so I could breathe fresh air. So it is cheap - what is there to do?

Well, for starters, you could check out Mike Oz’s Post No Bills, a collection of concerts, club events and other things to do on a Friday or Saturday night. I’m usually not bored.

Gimmie a break....some people actually like to do more than get drunk at clubs, especially while on vacation.

We need a mayor who will allow businesses the ability to have things here in Fresno for people to come and enjoy. I agree that we don't only drink and go clubbing here in Fresno BUT it is something the younger group do AND that is worth looking into still.
Our current administration does not make it easy for events and activities to be put on how things sit and THAT is why we don't have things going on as much as we should here in Fresno.
Jim Boswell will make that happen once we get him elected as mayor of fresno
