arrowFresno mayor: Moving the conversation online

With the mayor's and three council seats up for grabs this year, we have a total of 18 candidates running for office just in the city of Fresno.

Keeping track of them all can be a little challenging, especially since this year a lot of them have discovered that the Internet is a great tool.

Most of the candidates have a website. Some even have campaign pages set up on Myspace.

Michelle Jorgensen, a candidate for the District 6 seat on the Fresno City Council is also using fresnofamous.com as a campaign tool. Jorgensen floats questions to potential voters, and then participates in the online conversations that give voters a chance to read exactly what she is thinking.

Jim Boswell, who is running for mayor, formed a group on meetup.com. That's the site Ron Paul has used to build support -- and solicit money -- for his presidential bid. Boswell's group has five members so far.

Are you following the candidates online? If so, what are you learning from all this access and information?
