Fresno police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Wednesday evening in central Fresno.

The male victim was shot near Rowell and Olive avenues about 5:30 p.m., a spokesman said. Police later stopped a vehicle at HIghway 168 and McKinley Avenue, detained three males and searched their vehicle before concluding they were not involved in the shooting, the spokesman said.
