arrowPerea wins employee group's backing for Fresno mayor

Fresno City Council Member Henry T. Perea has picked up another endorsement in his bid for the mayor's office, receiving the nod from a city employees group.

The Fresno City Employees Association, "the largest and most diverse of the city's employee organizations," interviewed candidates before selecting Perea, according to a news release. Perea will lead the city by bringing together a wide range of interests and a positive and hard-working attitude, the association said.

Perea also received an endorsement last week from the Greater Fresno Area Chamber of Commerce.

Perea is one of eight candidates running for mayor so far. They're seeking to replace Alan Autry, who will leave office next year because of term limits.
