arrow Oh my god, I hate this season of "Project Runway"

This season has been the most lackluster season of "Project Runway" I've seen since I started watching the show -- the most boring designers (don't try to tell me Emily, Jennifer and Leanne are three different people because I won't believe you) designing the most ridiculous, straight-out-of-Home Ec designs during the most half-assed challenges (design a dress based on a pretty flower -- come on!).

Last night's episode was truly the pinnacle of suck, though. With their lack of creativity and inability to sew under pressure, the final four designers competing to show at Bryant Park would never have made it this far in previous seasons. How many times did we see each designer fall into a giant puddle of tears last night? I mean, third season designers Laura and Jeffrey would have sent Kenley and Leanne home crying by now.

Oh, and can we talk about Kenley for a second? Hate her. Hate. That honking goose voice, the stupid hair feathers, and her penchant for choosing fabrics straight out of a Boca Raton retirement home. Did I mention I hate her? Well Heidi Klum does, too.

SPOILERS AFTER THE JUMP.

After an episode's worth of the other designers gleefully watching Kenley struggle (Korto hiding her extra tulle when Kenley couldn't find hers was so petty and fantastic), and Kenley giving them the silent treatment in the workroom, only to honk and yell at them as well as the judges on the runway, you can imagine my expectant glee as I sat there waiting to see what kind of scene she was going to create as Heidi finally booted her (and that hideous "Little Mermaid" on crack mess she designed) out the door.

And then you can imagine my shock, disappointment and finally anger as Heidi announced that all four designers were so equal in their suckage that the judges couldn't decide who to eliminate, so they'd all get a chance to design a collection with one designer being eliminated just prior to Bryant Park.

WTF? Not only is that move (which they've done before), the most anticlimactic cop-out ever, the judges could have salvaged an entire season's worth of nonessential episodes by finally giving the "Runway" watchers what we wanted to see most: Kenley mouthing off to Heidi one last time and Heidi sticking her well-manicured German foot up the daughter of a tugboat captain's ass.

Alas, all we got to see was Tim Gunn initiate a group hug at the end while Kenley sat defiantly in a chair ignoring Tim's request to let bygones be bygones. Anyone who can ignore a hug from Tim Gunn is not human in my opinion, and now all I can hope is that Kenley gets eliminated (or hit by a taxi) before Bryant Park.

Note: I know the collections have already been shown at Bryant Park. If you post any spoilers in the comments, I will not only not publish them, I will BAN YOU FOR LIFE. Yes, I have that power.

I actually managed to finally catch an episode of this last night and having not watched any episode this season, even I was ready for her to be kicked off last night.

yeah, i hear ya sister. this season has been rather dull. and it's been apparent that jerell (sp?) and leanne were clearly better than the rest very early on.

I would have been content with Jurell, Korto and Leanne being the top three (they're the best of the worst), but, aside from Jurell's penchant for talking to fruit, they're all super boring.

I can see why they kept Kenley - strictly for drama's sake. Now I'm just hoping Nina Garcia slaps a bitch in the final episode.

Heather, I'm in total agreement about the suckiness of the show this season. I thought last night's "OK, we'll let all four of you continue on in the competition" cop-out was hugely disappointing. Here's my take: Shows like "Project Runway" have already blown through the legitimate talent out there in previous seasons. There are only so many talented designers out there willing to endure the reality-show humiliation of having a camera stuck in your face 24/7. I say put the show on hiatus for a couple of years, then come back with a whole new slate.

Are those judges, Heidi included, for real? I cant imagine why none of them ripped Kenley to shreds 3 episodes ago. She's got to be the most spoiled, entitled, whiney brats i've ever seen.
This is one of the only TV shows i watch and its unfortunate that the designers suck so bad although i did read an article last year stating that they were having a hard time finding talent for this season....uh, duh!

Yes, Yes, and YES!
This is by far the most uninspired and lacking of talent season of Project Runway! I have truly been disappointed with this season and have felt no connection or reason to really root for anyone in particular. At least the three minus the superbrat Kenley have had some almost good moments of design, but even then it couldn't compare with previous season designers. I agree that the only reason the superbrat has stayed on is because they figure she keeps people watching, but come on, if she goes to Bryant Park that would be a major insult to fashion, humanity and all the designers before her. I also agree that if they are having a real problem finding talent, then as much as I hate to see it go, they need to at least take a break. Maybe they should just do a show with Tim Gunn and the REAL design students at Parsons.
