Was Sammy Hagar in Fresno last night?
Here's how it went down: Last night I saw a Tweet from Geoff Kramer -- local DJ, Creative Fresno guy and all-around cool dude -- saying, " Sammy Hagar is at the public house."
After all this Wabo Watch stuff, this certainly caught my eye. Geoff snapped the picture to the right from his cell phone (click to enlarge) and sent it to me. Blurry, but I guess it looks like Sammy. With Fresno Wabo in private opening mode, it would be plausible for Sammy to be in Fresno.
So I called Cabo developer Milt Barbis, who told me Sammy Hagar was NOT at Public House and NOT in Fresno, though he had talked to Sammy earlier in the day. Hmmm. Sammy lookalike? Or a secret trying to be kept under wraps?
I'm still not convinced either way. Redheads, you know better than me what Sammy looks like sitting at a bar. Is that him?
Anybody else see Mr. Hagar around town? If so, spill it.

I don't think it's him. Goatee is too full and hair is too long. Though the nose looks the same.

To me it looks like Gregorioloco, an all around good guy who kind of looks like Sammy, but that is NOT Sammy!

Just texted a friend that's working at Cabo Wabo and she said that yes, he was there last night. Not sure if the picture is really him, but she did confirm that Sammy was at Cabo Wabo last night.

Nope, Sammy was HOME yesterday in Mill Valley.
I was at the show he put on there last night.
That does look like gregorioloco though!
Todd or Dennis look way more like Sammy to me...from a distance like that anyhow.

That was not Sammy, it was his rather paunchy not as famous half brother Harry Hagar, the viking.

I have no idea if it's Sammy Hagar, but this is an interesting commentary on the power (and potential pitfalls) of a Twitterfied world in which unsubstantiated "news" flits around with lightning speed. Reminds me of when Felicia told me last week that she'd just heard from a colleague that Twittering political junkies were abuzz with the news that Obama had picked Kathleen Sebelius as his running mate. Ooops, that was before the Drudge Report proclaimed that Evan Bayh was the running mate.

I didn't snap a pic or anything, but a couple weeks back I saw a doppelganger of Kid Rock eating at the Macaroni Grill with an older lady, perhaps a grandma. He was a little paunchier than Kid Rock, obviously not him, but he had the shoulder length blonde hair with the fedora on his head. The face was similar too. Has anyone else seen Kid Rock around town?

When I worked at KKDJ throughout most of the 80's Sammy used to regularly visit the studios at 3636 N. First (KKDJ's original studios from which I did the very last broadcast before handing it over to Dean in the new control room, on Shaw).
From that pic, I can't tell if that's the Red Rocker, or not, but stranger things have been known to happen. I used to eat at the Johnny Rockets in Westwood frequented by Rod Stewart and John Larroquette. They both appreciated Ketchup Happy Faces.

Not Sammy! That Dude was puking in the restroom around 9:00 pm. In person the guy actually looks like Johnny Fairplay from Survivor.
