arrow You review "The Dark Knight"

We know there were midnight, and 3 a.m., and 6 a.m. showings of the latest "Batman" movie. I had to, you know, be functional today, so I didn't attend. If you did, we'd love to hear from you.

In the meantime, you can check out Bee film critic Rick Bentley's print review here.

Or just sit back, and watch his one-minute (technically clocking in at 1:33) version:

An exerpt from local movie blogger Brodie Mash:

Never during the entire 2.5 hour run of the film did I fear the flying rodent. His fighting style is comparable to how I would imagine the Kool-Aid man would look like if he knew kung fu. Maybe it's the suit's bulky design, but I think Nolan's decision to humanize Batman and show that he is a man in a suit by choosing some lengthy shots still detracted from the Batman experience for me. When Batman is around, he's god. Or at least he's supposed to make his opponents think so. Oh yeah, and the return of the gravely voice from the first one returns....NOW WITH MORE GRAVEL! Ugh....

Sure, one might see this as my fanboyism manifesting itself and I would probably more than agree with you. I can't change that, sorry. I loves me my comics! But to counter my one claim (before people get all pissy) about the film, I would still say that this is the best film I've seen this year, without a doubt.

Comments:

the suit did look a little bigger in these movies but i think his swift moves in the suit make it all the more intimidating. this guy is right. when batman is fighting he is a walking god. i don't think i have shuttered so many times at somebody being beaten up during an action sequence than in this movie. and the gravely voice is for a reason. Bruce Wayne is too famous to use it real, distinct voice. this isn't the campy Superman/Clark Kent where nobody could put 2 and 2 together. it does get a wee bit old when he has a lot of dialogue as batman but i wouldn't change it one bit. i would have been pissed if he used his real voice.

Well lets take the Jokers for one...Jack played a "Joker" as for Ledger played "Jokes". Never the less still did a great job..

I also was not really interested in this years Dark Knight because I was not afraid of him. It seemed his way of speech was more "Forceful" then it was natural.

The story line..

I felt I was wathing The Lord Of The Rings...

Need to speed things up guys.

See a movie that is 2hrs long....You know they just want to place a lot of things in not careing how it sounds because all you want to do is get it over with...

Never the less go see the movie "At Least Once"

Ledger makes you forget you're watching a movie and makes you believe you are watching "The Joker".

This is coming from a fan of "The Joker".

My heart raced with which cackle that the Joker belted out.
Then, I knew he was the Joker, a true madman.
