Who's going went to Mayhem Fest?
UPDATE: I added 12 photos from today's Mayhem Fest at Save Mart Center, courtesy of Bee photographer Darrell Wong. Here's one below. The rest are after the jump.
ORIGINAL POST: I spilled plenty of knowledge about today's Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival in this morning's issue of The Bee. The metal festival -- headlined by Slipknot and Disturbed -- gets going in a couple of hours at the Save Mart Center, which is the fifth stop on its inaugural trek.
I won't be out there. Tuesday is my busiest day in the office (all that stuff you see in 7 with my name don't write itself, right Ty Webb?), so I'm counting on folks to let me know just what kind of Mayhem Fresno witnessed. I'm sure others stuck in offices would appreciate it too. To do my part, here's the band schedule:
Hot Topic Stage: Black Tide (2:20 p.m.), The Red Chord (3:15 p.m.), 36 Crazyfists (4:15 p.m.), Suicide Silence (5:15 p.m.), and Underoath (6:25 p.m.)
Jagermeister Stage: Six Ounce Gloves (2:50 p.m.) Airbourne (3:45 p.m.), Walls of Jericho (4:45 p.m.), Five Finger Death Punch (5:55 p.m.) and Machine Head (7 p.m.).
Mayhem Stage (inside the arena): Mastodon (5:45 p.m.), DragonForce (7:30 p.m.), Disturbed (8:35 p.m.) and Slipknot (10:05 p.m.)

Comments:
It Is On A Tuesday ! ! ! !
I'm guessing they don't think us old working stiffs like music.
No, no, I get the whole scheduling thing and traveling, etc. It still bites.

True, true.
But let's say you get off work at 5, you can still see about half the bands. At least they're forward with the schedule, unlike Warped Tour, where it's all crapshoot.
I think, though, this one does run the risk -- especially on a Tuesday in 100-degree Fresno -- of people just going to the stuff inside the arena and ignoring all the outside stuff during the day.

I didn't go (I was busy working on a swede for the upcoming swede film festival) but my girlfriend went and she had a blast. Even had her pic taken with the lead singer from Five Finger Death Punch.

I am a fan of most of these bands but in my opinion in regards to the smaller stages five finger death punch killed. Slipknot took it inside.

Just posted a review on my blog. http://tinyurl.com/5ub2dl Awesome show last night. Did not get to see any of the daytime stuff because of work. @Eddie you are right that Slipknot stole the show inside.
