arrow Want to see a movie with me tonight? It would be "Priceless"

This evening I'm going to Fresno Filmworks' 5:30 p.m. screening at the Tower Theatre of the French film "Priceless" starring Audrey Tautou. Tickets are $10, so you can take that $3 you're saving and get a drink or a scoop of ice cream after the show. (There's another showing at 8 p.m. for you night owls.)

Look, if I'm not irresistible and charming enough to get you to come out, let me assure you that Audrey Tautou is, and I promise you won't even notice the subtitles after awhile.

See you out there? In the meantime, enjoy the trailer for "Priceless":

Hooray! Thanks, in advance, for coming, H-Mac! I hope other people come, too! Besides, The Dark Knight will be showing for like two months in Fresno, whereas Priceless is only here for one night.

(Disclaimer: In case people don't know already, I'm on the Filmworks board. And, I'm also vice president of Heather's fan club.)

Heather, I'm a little surprised that you of all people would jump on the irresponsible resporting bandwangon. What $3 is there actually to save? Why would you or anyone else continue to post inaccurate and damaging information?

Continuing the line of INCORRECT prices without checking their main website or heck, even the mall's website which happens to be A BANNER at the top of the MAINHIVE is not only wrong, it's just wow. Sames goes for Donald.

What happened to HELPING a buisness thrive? It's moments like this that makes it hard to be a friend of the BEE and no wonder there is a decline in readership across the board.

Well, Geanie, at least you're not OVERREACTING.

The mistake was mine, admittedly, but I doubt the movie industry needs my help to make it "thrive."

And let's not overlook the fact that 3-D movies are still $13 per person, as listed on the Sierra Vista Cinemas web site, so it's not like we made that price up. If one sees "Priceless" instead of some 3-D piece of crap, they're still saving $3.

For the record, I like you a lot, Geanie, and I think you do a great job promoting Sierra Vista Mall. My intention here wasn't to slam you or the Mall - just to make a quick joke in a post about getting people to see an independent film at a smaller theater.

Actually I hadn't heard of this movie before this post, now I'm interested in going. But I don't want to go by myself. Anyone want to be my date?

And can I be a member of Hmac's fan club? Like treasurer or something?

Michael, you can sit in the "dateless" section by me.

Heather, I find it hard to believe you'd ever be in the dateless section.

Geanie get back in your bottle. Psycho.

I was not able to see the movie because I just found out about it 1.5 hours too late. But since we are talking about saving money and all, I would opt for watching "Dirty Pretty Things" with a bit of wine and some good snacks at home. Saves money and you can avoid those nasty checkpoints as well!

Michael, it was nice to finally meet you!

Heather it was nice to finally meet you. Though I still think it would have been funnier after I asked if "This was the dateless (well stupid me said singles section, but I was nervous in the presence of such a famous person) section" and you had said no. Sorry I didn't stick around after, next time I promise I will.

And I really enjoyed the movie and it was surprisingly sweet. It reminded me a bit of a modern Breakfast at Tiffany (minus the insulting portrayal done by Mickey Rooney). You can tell how good an actress Tautou is if you are charmed by her and you don't even need to read the subtitles.

I definitely had a good night and can't wait till Roman De Gare next month. And it was nice seeing so many people in the theater.
