Local stays alive in competition
Visalia's Stan Carrizosa got some good news Monday night. He was one of six contestants on the ABC summer reality show "High School Musical: Get in the Picture" who has advanced to the field of 24 finalists.
The 17-year-old El Diamante High School student just has to last a few more rounds. Here's what he will get for his efforts.
One prize winner will star in a music video shown in the end credits of the feature film, Disney's "High School Musical 3: Senior Year." The feature film opens this fall. If the film is half as popular as the made-for-cable movie that spawned the franchise, the music video will be seen by millions.
And there is more. The winner also will get a recording contract for two singles with Walt Disney Records. I have just two words for you: Hannah Montana.
The competition airs 8 p.m. Sundays and Mondays on KFSN, Channel 30. It is hosted by Nick Lachey.
For the record, and ABC press release says Stan's hobbies include snowboarding, golf and working out.
