Five Things You Should Do This Weekend ...
Because you need more cowbell.
1. Check out Thunder in the Park, today through Sunday, with plenty of bikers, vendors and local music -- plus headliners Foghat and -- yes -- Blue Oyster Cult. To see Will Ferrell, however, you'll have to go here instead.
2. Skate it up in the Tower on Sunday for the Skull Bros. skateboarding competition. I wonder if someone has to jump like 10 Bobby Salazar's burritos.

3. Enjoy Silent Comedy. Not Charlie Chaplin style -- we're talking about a band. These San Diego boys have a nice mellow indie-meets-folk style. They're playing at The Barnyard, but you might have seen them previously at Starline.
4. Dance your tail off at Last Call. DJ 4 a.m. will be in the place. Expect the funky. Last time he spun at Palomino's he had a guy stripping in the window and even our own H-Mac cutting some rug.
5. See a cool show for free. The Republic Tigers -- a Kansas City band that sounds like it's from the UK -- are playing a last-minute show at Rasputin Music on Saturday at 2 p.m. 7 p.m. It's free, but you should kick in a few bucks, if you can.

Comments:
All great things to do this weekend, but, you missed the Thunder in the Park afterparty:
Friday Night: Stevie Ray Vaughn Tribute "Alan Iglesias and Crossfire"
Saturday Night: LBC's in the house with 100% Sublime tribute.
Hope to see you all there!!

The Republic Tigers show should be good. We've been playing them at KFSR the past couple weeks and their album is good. Richard Jones, a fellow Evening Eclectic DJ at KFSR, is helping bring them here.
Thanks also, Mike, for clarifying the time. Richard says the show was moved to 7 p.m. because the band is traveling between L.A. today and S.F. on Sunday, making the stop here in Fresno on the way.

Tonight in Downtown Fresno there will be an all ages dance party where local deejays will be spinning in two rooms at the Armenian Community Center, Yeraz. Yeraz is located across from the Fresno Convention Center at 2348 Ventura Ave Fresno, CA 93721.
