In today's paper, I have a feature story on the Ditch Bank Okies, a band that people who have been around the local music scene since back in the mid '90s might remember fondly.

The Okies were a country/rock band with a definite sense of humor. The band's "Fishing Song" was a hit on KRZR's morning show and the group's popularity quickly spread beyond. After going their separate ways in 2000, the group members got back together for a show last summer and are now reuniting again this weekend for back-to-back shows in Fresno.

Tonight, Ditch Bank Okies are playing at Club Fred for the 21+ and then on Saturday at Starline, which is open to all-ages. At the Starline show, the band is recording for a live CD/DVD.
